4-10 September 2017

Most of us rarely spend time in silence, shutting out the busyness of the world and listening to God. This retreat gives space and help to commune with God. A previous retreatant said, ‘It was like being on holiday with the one you love the most’.

Led by Revd Rob Hingley and Pat Callaghan

£399 per person, full board, residential (rate inclusive of guaranteed single occupancy)

Arrival/check in between 4-5pm on Monday / Depart/checkout 10am on Sunday

If spending time in God’s presence away from daily pressures is what you need, then this retreat is ideal. Revd Rob Hingley and Pat Callaghan who lead the retreat are trained and experienced in individual guidance according to the methods and spirituality explored by Ignatius Loyola in the 16th century – a Christian spirituality described as ‘finding God in all things’. Apart from the introductory sessions, the retreat will be individually guided, allowing each retreatant to follow his/her own path with God. Bible passages or other aids to contemplation are suggested and each retreatant meets daily with his or her prayer guide to reflect on their journey of prayer. Together the retreatant and guide seek to discern the leading of the Holy Spirit, who ‘strengthens our inner being with power, that Christ may dwell in our hearts with faith’ (Ephesians 3:16).

There is silence from the first night until the end of the retreat, apart from acts of worship and meetings with the prayer guide. This silence helps us to develop inner awareness and listen to God’s Word for us. Morning communion and evening meditation are offered. Paint, clay and other art materials will be available, with an optional workshop to explore how they can be used as aids to prayer and self-expression. Enjoying the garden, the beach and the moor may all contribute to the retreat.

Whether it is a led retreat with a specific theme, or simply a personal retreat during one of our half-board breaks - there is something for everyone. Some retreats are open to non-resident guests and day visitors.

Retreats and Quiet Day Rates

Unless otherwise stated, rates quoted are for residential retreats at the standard price per person. Guaranteed Single Occupancy charges apply for all residential retreats, except for the Individually-Guided Silent Retreats. Single occupancy of multiple occupancy rooms is charged at £15/night. Single-bedded rooms are very limited.

Shared Occupancy Discounts

We are pleased to offer a ‘shared occupancy discount’ for *individuals who are willing to share a non-single room. Please let us know when booking if you are willing to share with another person of the same gender, who is also willing to share a multiple occupancy room. A 10% discount will be applied to the standard rate for bookings from individuals who share a room.

*If guaranteed single occupancy is required and all single rooms have been occupied, then a single occupancy charge at the current advertised rate will apply in addition to the standard event fee. Please let us know if you are booking as an individual and willing to share with another person of the same gender who is also willing to share - a shared occupancy discount is available, but only when sharing a room. If you are willing to share a room, but we are unable to accommodate you with another individual, then only the standard event fee will apply - no single occupancy charge or discount will be applied.
